Westminster By-Election (NI) - Mid Ulster

Introduction

The Mid Ulster by-election was called following the resignation of the sitting MP Martin McGuinness (SF). McGuinness gave up the seat following a decision by Sinn Féin to end the practice of people holding elected positions in two parliaments / assemblies. The DUP and the UUP entered into an electoral pact and selected Nigel Lutton as an agreed Unionist candidate.
