Calendar of Victims-Related Media Material - 1 October 2006 to 31 March 2009
Bibliography compiled by Dr Dr Brendan Lynn (2009)
Calendar and chronology compiled by Dr Martin Melaugh (2009)
calendar newspaper

Introduction

The following calendar lists dates that coincide with the period of the CAIN / AHRC project (1 October 2006 - 31 March 2009). The individual dates form links to materials listed in the bibliography which are held in the Archive (or are linked to original Web sites). Most of this material is comprised of items that appeared in the media (print media and Web sites of broadcast media). The material also includes relevant reports, statements, etc., published on a particular day.

As mentioned in the description of the Archive and Bibliography, it was decided to collect material related to news reports and political statements during the life of the project. This was done to highlight the level of debate that was taking place during this time. The following calendar provides one route into the information. The other main approach is to use the search facilities.

Users can 'click' on the links of individual dates or on the names of months to get monthly lists. Any date with a line through it (eg, 23) means there are no items currently in the Archive which were published on that date. Users should note that even short-lived stories can run across a number of days, other longer-running stories / issues were covered during the whole period covered below. (When you have finished viewing the items you can either use the 'back' button on your browser to return to this page or use the links in the menu bar.)
